Worked with Mike and his team to refinish our hardwood floors in a home we purchased recently, which weren't terrible but we figured it'd be a good idea before we moved in. I am very happy we chose this company because we largely made our decisions based on reviews (Calabrese Flooring has the best reviews hands down of any flooring company in Denver). We were not disappointed! We had them fully sanded, stained, and sealed. The work took approximately 4 days of work which was spread over about 6 total days and he accommodated us on our tight time frame which was greatly appreciated, granted he was booked out in advance, he made it happen!! The floors look brand new and it was worth every penny. Pretty affordable and terrific work, I would highly recommend them.

I’ve been living in Denver, Colorado for last six years, I have been procreating to get my hardwood floor done at my house. After I spoke with Mike, he seemed very knowledgeable about the work he has to do, got a rough estimate then he came and saw the floor, then finished the work. Calabrese Flooring was by far the best contractor I’ve ever hired.  We just finished a 3 month long full renovation of our house and Mike (the owner and sole worker of the company) did our floors, stair treads/risers, balusters, and trim in our house (~1400 sqft of floor).

From start to finish Mike was responsive, professional, and communicated with great detail what to expect in regards to timeline and price.

Just before our project began Mike had a family emergency that took him away from work for several days, delaying the project he was working on just before ours.  The delay on this previous project was going to delay the start of our project past the date we were going to install our kitchen (we wanted the floors in before the kitchen).  Mike was awesome though and was able to negotiate shared time with his previous client and us to get our floor installed before our Kitchen would be, avoiding any delays on our project.

Mike was able to get the majority of our main floor installed in three days and it looked incredible.  He definitely focuses on detail as exemplified by how well he was able to end the floor against our fireplace. Mike laid the vinyl flooring from the opposite wall towards the fireplace, making the cut at the brick very difficult to keep close, but when he was done we decided it didn’t even need trim due to how small the gap between the floor and the brick is.

At the end of each day Mike communicated what he expected to get done the next day and how much he’d done the current day as well as clarified any questions there may have been about the upcoming work.  This really made us comfortable with the work he was doing and avoided confusion and worries since I was at work for most of the installation and couldn’t be there for in-the-moment questions.

We were so happy with Mike’s work on our floors we asked him to continue his work onto staining our barn door and installing our balusters.  After making sure his other customers were taken care of he quickly made it back to our house to install beautiful balusters, trim, and finish staining our barn door.

With each of the projects Mike worked on he paid special attention to detail.  The railing on our stairs meets perfectly with the wall.  The gaps between the steps and the walls are near unnoticeable and the staining on our barn door is perfectly even.  I will 100% be hiring Mike in the future for staining and floor installation.

Mike just finished installing our brand-new floors, and couldn't have done a better job. His attention to detail and craftsmanship completely transformed the way our house looked. Mike not only installed our main flooring, but installed wood stairs, as well as new baseboards around the house. There isn't a spot in the entire project that looks like it should be improved or touched up. Mike is truly passionate about what he does, and that comes through in his work. He even went above and beyond by adding new spindles to our stairway, as well as lights under our fireplace that looked amazing!

Additionally, Mike is extremely communicative and responsive through the entire project. He always told us every day that he came what he planned to do, what was remaining, his timing, and even how he was going to do it (so we learned in the process!). He was respectful of what we had going on in the house and worked around us, as well as becoming best friends with our new puppy.

In my personal opinion and experience, Mike is the best flooring contractor in Denver, and I highly recommend using him for your project. He's one of the most genuine people we have ever met, and couldn't be happier with the job he did.
